NxtGen Emission Controls, Inc. Announces the Appointment of Jeremy Holt as President and CEO and Company Board Member
Tuesday November 6, 5:35 pm ET
VANCOUVER, British Columbia and DETROIT, Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- NxtGen Emission Controls, Inc. announced the appointment of Jeremy Holt to president and chief executive officer (CEO) and a director of the board. The announcement was made today by Ron Palfery, chairman of NxtGen. NxtGen is an emergent developer and supplier of emissions control devices and systems to address diesel emissions challenges related to NOx and particulate matter in light- and heavy-duty diesel engines.
The NxtGen technology facilitates an elegant solution to NOx emission after treatment and particulate filter regeneration performance as an effective and viable alternative to selective catalytic reduction (SCR). The NxtGen system uses highly reactive combination of hydrogen and carbon monoxide created from diesel fuel, called "syngas." The "syngas" generator does not require the use of catalysts or different fluids on the vehicle. This avoids the cost and complexity of urea-based SCR technology. NxtGen's components, systems engineering and control strategies leverage the non-catalytic "syngas" creation and control to allow for fast cycle active regeneration of lean NOx traps and particulate filters. Adoption of this system could liberate fuel economy improvements via recalibration of engine operation and allow for lower temperature particulate filter regeneration.
Commenting on the appointment, Palfery said: "We are delighted to welcome Jeremy Holt as president, CEO and board Director. His extensive 28-year powertrain career in the technically orientated supply of powertrain components and his last nine years as president of technology and engineering services supplier, Ricardo in North America, brings a unique blend of skills and experience to NxtGen that are ideally suited to the commercialization of this clean diesel technology. Jeremy will reside in Detroit and will spearhead efforts to bring the company's technology to the automotive and heavy duty markets."
Commenting on his appointment, Holt said: "I am excited to join NxtGen and lead the company through the commercialization phase of this meaningful technology that has gone through many years of development. The opportunities for the company's technology are broad, spanning original equipment for light, heavy and high horsepower engine applications for vehicle and stationary uses, as well as the growing retrofit market to clean older engines that are being encouraged by several states and territories. NxtGen's technology is a key enabler for the liberation of diesel engines in North America by finding an elegant and effective solution to the challenges of world-leading 2010-diesel emissions standards."
NxtGen Emission Controls, Inc. is privately held by institutional investors led by Yaletown Venture Partners and has operations in Vancouver, British Columbia and Detroit. The company is a supplier and technology innovator in hydrocarbon fuel processing and is leveraging this technology to support clean diesel, advanced gasoline and alternative fuel engine applications.
